Visit the Phase III 560,000 m³/h Odor Control Project at Li Jiao Water Treatment Plant in Guangzhou City
Liao Yufen, Assistant to the General Manager of Southern Environmental Protection Group, warmly welcomed the colleagues who traveled from afar on behalf of the company. She then accompanied the research team on a tour of the Lixiao Water Purification Plant, showcasing each stage of its production process. During the visit, she personally examined the effectiveness of our company's odor-control and ventilation technologies as applied in this project, gaining a deep understanding of the underground water plant's odor-management solutions and the technical challenges involved—all with the aim of providing valuable insights and practical references for future environmental protection projects.
Under the enthusiastic guidance and explanations of their colleagues from the water purification company, the research team gained insights into the plant's water treatment capacity, processes, and outcomes. They also personally experienced the remarkable charm of the green, eco-friendly garden built atop the wastewater treatment facility. In response, the association leaders couldn’t help but exclaim: "It’s truly amazing how they’ve transformed a wastewater plant into something like this!"
The Phase III project of the Lixiao Water Purification Plant adopts an eco-friendly model featuring an underground facility combined with an above-ground park. Southern Environmental Protection has provided a comprehensive and highly effective odor-control and ventilation system solution for the plant's construction, helping it overcome the persistent odor issue and transforming what was once perceived as "NIMBY" concerns into "neighborly benefits." This innovative approach sets a benchmark for the construction of underground wastewater treatment plants.
After carefully listening, observing, and experiencing the environment firsthand, the members of the research team thoroughly praised the water purification plant, enthusiastically remarking, "We didn’t smell a single hint of odor." Even in areas with poor ventilation, they felt no discomfort whatsoever. Everywhere they went, the facility stood in stark contrast to the conventional image of wastewater treatment plants as "dirty," "stinky," and "polluted." This clearly reflects their high appreciation for Nanfang Environmental’s effective implementation and operation of advanced systems—including odor collection and treatment, ventilation, and air supply—across the entire plant.
