On November 1, 2020, the National Business Quality Conference was held in Beijing. During the conference, awards were presented to the organizations that won the "2019 China Federation of Industry and Commerce Science and Technology Award." Among the winners, the joint project titled "Key Functional Materials for Biological Treatment of Low-Concentration VOCs Exhaust Gases and Their Applications," jointly submitted by Southern Environmental Protection and Zhejiang University of Technology, was honored with the Special Grand Prize of the "National Business Science and Technology Progress Award."

The award aims to recognize organizations and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to scientific research, technological innovation, achievement promotion, and the industrialization of high-tech advancements in China's commercial sector, thereby driving technological progress within the industry.

This project is at VOCs Breakthroughs have been achieved in functional materials such as degradation bacteria, functional microbial agents, and bio-fillers, addressing the challenge of low concentrations. VOCs The bottleneck issue in biological waste gas purification: selecting and cultivating highly efficient degrading bacteria, and establishing the first VOCs Degradation strain library is established to enhance the pollutant degradation process; a composite functional microbial agent suitable for multi-component exhaust gas purification has been developed, ensuring the synergistic and efficient degradation of various pollutants in the exhaust gas. Additionally, advanced biocarriers are prepared using technologies such as cell encapsulation, which strengthens microbial attachment and enables sustained nutrient release, thereby facilitating rapid biofilm formation and maintaining stable reactor operation. Peer-reviewed by expert colleagues, the research outcomes are deemed to be at an internationally advanced level overall, with specific aspects particularly noteworthy. VOCs The degrading microbial strain library and the multifunctional microbial agent are at an internationally leading level.
